Name: Torrence Allen

Position: Wide Receiver

Age: 25

Competition: Javontee Herndon, Tyrell Williams

Reason to be Optimistic: Allen was incredibly productive at West Texas A&M, putting up 3,098 yards and 24 touchdowns over his final two seasons. A reliable possession receiver who is best out of the slot, he now enters his third season, which is when the proverbial “light” goes on for many young receivers.

Reason to be Pessimistic: In seven preseason games, Allen has just four catches for 34 yards. He will need to be significantly more productive with his opportunities this time around if he hopes to leapfrog Herndon, who — like Allen — joined the team as an undrafted free agent in 2014.
