Bet No. 1: The Offensive Line Will Stay Healthy
The Chargers have already added protection at tackle, restructuring King Dunlap, re-signing Joe Barksdale and bringing back Chris Hairston. It’s on the inside where things are most precarious.
The projected starters — LG Orlando Franklin, C Chris Watt and RG D.J. Fluker — combined to miss 21 games last season. Backup center Trevor Robinson was a disaster last year (23.4 overall grade from Pro Football Focus) and backup guard Kenny Wiggins (40.7) was not significantly better.
Look for the Chargers to fortify the interior offensive line in the middle rounds, with Graham Glasgow (Michigan), Ted Karras (Illinois) and Isaac Seumalo (Oregon State) being strong candidates. Telesco could even double-down on this position in the later rounds with someone like Austin Blythe (Iowa) or Alex Huettel (Bowling Green).
