Round 1 (3): OT Laremy Tunsil, Ole Miss
No team benefited more from the changes at the top of the draft order than the Chargers. Assuming QBs Jared Goff and Carson Wentz now go with the first two selections, Telesco will be free to take the highest rated non-QB on his board.
That player should be Tunsil, the dominant blindside protector with a rare combination of size, power, balance and quickness. His foot speed and hand usage are significantly better than any other prospect in the draft.
The Chargers cannot return the same starting offensive line as last season, a unit that struggled to stay healthy and ranked No. 31 in adjusted line yards (3.19), according to Football Outsiders. So, the correct move is to draft Tunsil at No. 3, install him as the starting left tackle and make King Dunlap the swing tackle, where his durability is not as much of an issue.
