FIFTH ROUND

The Best: P Mike Scifres (2003)

Scifes, who was released earlier this offseason, leaves behind many great memories. His best game came against the Colts in 2008 playoffs, when he single-footedly kicked Indianapolis from the tournament. However, what sums up his career best is the way teammates and fans reacted after his release. It is not often a punter commands that kind of respect and admiration. He will go down as one of the best.

The Worst: RB Marcus Thomas (2008)

One year before the Chargers whiffed on Gartrell Johnson, they did the same with Thomas. Like Johnson, Thomas failed to survive his first training camp. He spent time with the Lions, Cowboys, Browns and Broncos but never logged a single carry in a regular-season game.
