The Chargers went 4-12 last season. It was their worst season since 2003, back when a 24-year-old Drew Brees threw more interceptions (15) than touchdowns (11) and the Bolts force-fed LaDainian Tomlinson like his life depended on it.

As the saying goes, it is always darkest before the dawn. And, boy oh boy, did that sun rise. The very next season, Brees and Tomlinson led a potent Chargers squad to a 12-4 record, confidently carrying the team back to prominence.

If the Chargers are to repeat history, they’ll need all 53 guys on the roster to turn this team around. However, there are four players especially critical to the team’s success.
