Even with five-time All Pro Eric Weddle prowling the secondary, San Diego’s safeties weren’t exactly lighting up the league. In fact, quite the opposite was true.

Now that The Beard has been shaved and Weddle is set to depart in free agency, the Chargers just don’t have much talent at the position, even with the signing veteran Dwight Lowery.

Practically no player the Chargers bring in will be able to replicate Weddle’s production and leadership (and facial hair) off the bat, but someone is going to have to try. We just don’t know exactly who that someone is yet.
